Activities at Blue Lake Lodge, Arthurs Lake

Blue Lake Lodge is ideally set up as the perfect Tasmanian getaway location.

Whether you are a trout fishing enthusiast, a nature lover or just want to relax and unwind, Blue Lake Lodge is your escape from the rat-race.

A boat is available by special arrangement for trout fishing, or you can fly-fish for trout from the scenic banks of Arthurs Lake.  (A fishing licence is required).

There are also a number of walking tracks on the lodge's 100 acres of pristine bushland. The abundance of wildlife is sure to delight the nature lover, with wallabies, deer, possums, echidnas and wombats making regular appearances.

Fishing

Arthurs Lake is famous as one of Tasmania's most productive Brown Trout fisheries. Whether you choose to fish from a boat or from the shoreline, you are almost certain to be in luck.

Please note that a bag limit of 12 trout per angler applies on Arthurs Lake.

Bushwalking

Blue Lake Lodge  sits on 100 acres of pristine Tasmanian bushland. There are a number of bushwalking tracks, which you won't want to miss. Bring your camera!

Photography

Blue Lake Lodge has a stunning variety of native animals and gorgeous scenery, providing a wealth of photographic opportunities for the nature photography enthusiast.

What to bring

Warm clothes, rain jacket, sunscreen (including lip sunscreen), polarised sunglasses (particularly if you wear prescription glasses), hat, and walking boots (if intending to use the walking trails).

Fishing gear: 5-7 wt 9 foot fly rods, weight forward floating lines, 9-12 foot tapered leaders with 6 pound tippet.  We have an excellent range of flies available for sale at the Lodge and a fully equipped fly tying table.

Please note: All fishing gear including waders and flies can be supplied for guided guests.
