Guided fly fishing and tuition on Arthurs Lake

Blue Lake Lodge guided fly fishing caters for
both experienced and novice fly fishers. Fly fishing activities can be shore
based and/or from specially designed sport fishing boats. The sport fishing
boats allow guided guests access to the best fly fishing opportunities and cater
for all levels of physical fitness.

Blue Lake Lodge guided fly fishing activities include: dry fly fishing in prolific summer mayfly hatches; flats polaroiding for big trout; superb dry fly sight fishing in various hatches
and terrestrial insect falls; wind lane fishing; tailing trout; and fishing for
sea run brown trout and Atlantic salmon. |

A guided fishing day at Blue Lake Lodge includes guided fishing and tuition, quality fly fishing equipment, all flies, lunch, morning and afternoon tea.
The guided fishing picnic lunch includes freshly brewed coffee with
homemade cakes and biscuits for morning and afternoon tea. Sandwiches are
freshly made with homemade bread, leg ham, poached trout, smoked free range chicken, tracklements
from the Lodge kitchen and Tasmanian cheeses- with a refreshing Boag’s Premium
beer. On a few cold days it is hard to beat a hot lunch in front of
the Lodge fire of trout chowder with bread rolls straight from the oven.
Accommodation is available right on Arthurs Lake at the Blue Lake Lodge.We can also tailor packages for you if you are new to fly

Arthurs Lake offers great fly fishing for both experienced and novice fly
fishers. The fly fishing is so good on Arthurs Lake that we purchased 100 acres
of lakeside land and constructed our fishing lodge, Blue
Lake Lodge, on the edge of the Lake. |

| Arthurs Lake teems with wild brown
trout mostly in the 2-4 pound weight class with the occasional bigger fish
thrown in. These wild browns are tenacious fighters- our guided guests are
regularly taken into the backing. The trout in Arthurs Lake rise freely when
surface food is available. During the summer months we almost exclusively fish
dry fly on Arthurs Lake. |

Guided fly fishing opportunities on Arthurs Lake include:

- gum beetle
falls;
- midge hatches;
- ant falls;
- jassid falls;
- psyllid falls;
- caenid hatches;
- polaroiding;
- tailing trout, wind lane fishing;
- loch style fly
fishing.

Our fly fishing boats allow access to the best fly fishing for
guided guests of all skill and fitness levels. All boats are fitted with
carpeted casting decks, 4 stroke outboard motors and remote controlled Minn Kota
electric motors for sneaking up on rising trout.
Guided fly fishing on Arthurs Lake and accommodation at Blue Lake Lodge is available between September and April inclusive. |
